    My Original Non-Naruto Creation

Post by Menchimonster on Thu Dec 06 2007, 21:50

This is a Bleach Fanflic I created some time a while ago in a couple sections. I have posted all of the sections here for your enjoyment. When critisizing it, please tell the truth and bs as harsh as you have to be, all for the better of making me a better writer. The main character, Kazeke, is made up and has no relation to the general Bleach storyline. However, events in this story actually took place in the show.

    Prologue-
"Life is a confusing thing. What do you live for. What in your will keeps you alive. How should one live a good life. It is full of questions that should and shouldn't be answered. But death... Death is a mystery and an escape. Those who do not want to live, choose this simple path. But it is completely unknown: it drives people insane. I was not phased by death. I saw it as another route from living. I chose death. Which is why I stepped in front of the car..."

    The Beginning of a Legacy

    Part 1

"WAAAH!" I struggled and tripped as I ran away from the approaching monster everyone called "Hollow." It resembled a spider and a snake but was much more terrifying. I moved with the speed I did not possess so, of course, it caught up to me. I was crying now for, at that moment, I was of the meager age of 5. It that fateful moment, however, as it opened it's disgusting jaws to consume me, I saw a flash of light. The hollow's head rested on the ground next to me and disappeared in an instant. I was frozen and crying for a good amount of time until I felt a warm hand on my cheek. That reassuring feeling made me stop crying and even smile for a moment.

"It's okay young one. You are saved now." I looked up and I saw a beautiful woman in a black outfit smiling at me. I couldn't see her face but her smile was enough to warm my heart and make me forget all of my miseries. "You poor thing, let me help you." The woman placed the bottom of the sword on my forehead and I felt a felt a warm wind and a bright light appearing under me. As I sunk into the bright energy, I was not afraid. I trusted her, that beautiful woman, I believed that I was going to a better place.

Then I was completely in the enshrouding light. In an instant, I seemed to be flying through a pure sky. I closed my eyes and I wondered where I was. Memories flashed by me like a swirling tornado of life. I was born to a poor family. Mom and dad always got into fights. Dad was often drunk and mom always had a bad attitude. One day when I was 4, I was kicked. Both of my parents were furious and I can't remember the details, but I was out on the street the next day. I crawled the streets eating anything I could find, not caring about taste or if it was edible. I cried night and day and I was though as vermin that should die by passing by strangers. Not one soul, bothered to give me food, shelter or anything. I was nothing in these devil's eyes. I grew hopeless as days went by. And I grew hungrier and hungrier. Then I lost faith. I walked into the middle of the street at the age of 5 and collided with a car.

The next time I opened my eyes, I was a ghost. A few weeks later the woman saved me and there I was, riding that current, not knowing what was in store for me. I couple of seconds later, I landed on the dusty ground and looked about. I wandered about for so many days I could not recall, even later on, and soon I was a small boy with only pain in his eyes, just like when I was cast out. I lost trust in the woman and was convinced that life and death were hell and nothing more. I couldn't cry anymore, for my tears had dried out. I had no feelings whatsoever, only a distant gaze. I just wandered aimlessly on the dusty path, hoping for nothing except my existance vanishing. Then a hand reached out for me.

"It's okay young one, you are saved now." Instantly recognized the voice and words and looked up. There she was, the one who's smile kept me hopeful. I was unbelieving at first and then she hugged me. "Come with me to my house. You'll be safe there." And in that very moment, I cried, which I could not do for so long. She smiled and took my hand. I was going home.

    Part 2

Ever since that day I was adopted, my studies of Soul Society increased rapidly. As the years passed, I came to finally know all there was to know. My caretaker, a shinigami named Hana, was roughly around the age of 25 and was absolutely wonderful. My horrors and experiences of pain were all gone, or so I hoped.

A while back, Hana entered me in these qualification tests to enter the Shinigami Academy. I didn't know what she thought of me but apparantly, according to her "observations", I had a great skill. So, like she wanted, I took the tests. They were brutal. I thought I would never come out alive to even see if I was accepted. On the first day of the tests, I and the other people were ordered to do menial tasks such as watering the garden, washing dishes, and helping old ones around town. Although, when I got back to my house way in the deep parts of a forest, I was as exhausted as if I was weight training with elephants. When I got to the house, I took as step in, Hana was there, eagerly awaiting for a synopsis on my day.

"Sooo, how did it go, Kazeke?" As I told her about the first day, her intense gazed sent me to the ground laughing. She started giggling and for a good amount of time, we laughed and laughed. Life seemed as good as it got. Hana and I, at the age of 10, lived in a little cottage in a giant forest outside of the protective gates. I've always asked why she didn't live inside the gated area but she always said,"I like it better out here." I was usually suspicious, but in a matter of seconds, I didn't care. Hana was constantly there for me and I was constantly there for her so it never seemed to be of great importance. I was completely content with my way of life.

Over the days, however, the Shinigami Academy tests seemed to intensify in difficulty. Especially for someone as young as I was. But no matter how many times I came home and wept over my injuries, Hana was there to comfort me. One day as I came home, feeling exceptionally excited to tell Hana about my day, I was greeted by, not her smiling face, but a cruel looking Shinigami. He turned to face me and yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?!?" I was frightened out of my mind and ran as fast as I could inside the cottage. In there, was something that gave me nightmares from that night and on. Two Shinigami were holding Hana's arms behind her back and were escorting her out.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MOM (As I often referred to her as.) !?!?"

"Get out of the way," said another Shinigami, who was wearing a white coat over his robe. I instantly recognized him. He was Byakuya Kuckichi. (SP?) I was frozen in fear as he brushed me aside and continued dragging Hana away. Before I she left my life for good, she smiled and said, "Goodbye, be a great Shinigami."

"NOOOOOO, MOM!" And she disappeared into the trees along with the other Shinigami. I was left alone there again. For the rest of the night, I cried.

I found a Shinigami the next day and asked about Hana. Apparently, shortly after she sent me to the Soul Society, Hana was accused of a horrible crime. The mass murdering of an entire squad, including the captain. She was put into a high- security prison in the central of Soul Society, but somehow, escaped to the little cottage, when she was put before the head of Shinigami that day, she was, at that instant, executed. I loathed those Shinigami and Byakuya, for taking her. I could not imagine how Hana, my nice and selfless caretaker, could of done that.

The days to come after that were lonely, but I did even more to become a Shinigami, as Hana's final wishes were. For food, I often resorted to stealing food and always got away with it. (I noticed that ever since the qualification tests began, I was gaining speed and strength.) Nonetheless, I survived the grueling tests and the horrible living conditions to make it to the 20th day of Shinigami testing. The day came where all of my hard work was going to pay off. Out of the hundreds of souls that registered, only a handful were being chosen. Everyone was called to the main building where the captains meetings took place and a steady stream of kido blasts were illuminating the sky with winning names so everyone could see.

10 minutes into the spectacle, I saw it, my name. "KAZEKE BASHIRU" was engraved in the sky. I did it, I was accepted, I celebrated all night. But unknown to me, that was just the beginning.

    Part 3

So my Shinigami training had begun. The very first day in the academy was hell. I was looked down and scorned at from every level. Apparently, they were outraged at the fact that someone who was a simple commoner managed to get into this prestigious school. I, myself, didn't care much about it. I was used to it and the excitement of the fact that I was ACTUALLY in it the academy made the insults null and void. The tests and assignments ,however, I didn't do so well on. Especially the Shikai part. I had a terrible time trying to master my blade. I couldn't even contact my spirit when I was well into my 2nd year there. Even my KIDO was 3rd rate compared to everyone else's. My hopes were rapidly decreasing.

That all changed one day though. All of my comrades were burying their heads deep into a couple of textbooks on Shinigami history, when a couple of blasts were visible in the far distance. Everyone gathered close to the windows and the instructor said with obvious haste, "Everyone, don't panic, just keep studying." He then left the room in a flash to check on the disturbance.

Every one's gazed was fixed on the commotion. Some even started shaking as the explosions came closer and closer. "Scared?" laughed some kids behind me. "Aw, it's okay Kazeke, whatever it is, it won't want to eat you. Monster's don't like to eat wussies" They all started laughing, but again, I didn't care. Although, I did get a little nervous as the blasts reached behind the walls. The boys and girls behind me got a little frightened too, and I suppressed a giggle.

Suddenly, the explosions ceased. No one said a word and finally some one said, "Whew, glad that's ov..." She was interrupted when the building shook from a violent blast illuminated the bottom floors. All students in the room immediately started panicking. When the dust cleared the room, I got a good view on what the monster was It was a hollow. This one resembled a bear with huge wings and front claws. My suspicions were true, Hollows had invaded Soul Society and thins one was attacking the Academy.

I ran away as fast as my legs could handle but the hollow caught up and pinned my on the hard surface of the floor. At that moment, I remembered when a hollow attacked me when I was a regular spirit, but I knew this time, nobody was going to save me. I desperately tried to break loose from the deathly grip but It was of no avail. I was looking down the path of destruction.

"NOOO!" I struggled and struggled and closed my eyes tight and yelled, without any idea, "TSUBASA!!!" In that instant, found myself on the top of the ruins of a steel tower, surrounded by broken houses and buildings. A giant snake-like dragon of steel appeared before me. I fell back on my behind, staring unbelieving at the majestic creature flying before me. "Wh... Who... are y... you?" I stammered.

"I AM TSUBASA," it replied in a booming voice that echoed around the ruins. "I am your spirit, your blade of heaven's true form. THE STEEL BEAST OF LEGEND!"

    "No way..." I said.

"It is true, young master. Call upon me again with your greatest intent. I am your loyal partner, you're Zanpaku-tou's true essence. I AM YOUR POWER. CALL MY NAME!"

I sucked in all of my courage and shouted words into the sky. "TSUBASA, SPREAD YOUR WINGS OF STEEL!" And a flash of light along with the screams of the hollow filled the room. When the light cleared, the hollow was gone and everyone stared at me. I looked at my zanpaku-to and smiled. The steel now formed a blade with electricity floating around it. Resembing a magnet, it had the powers of one.
"Tsubasa, huh? That's a nice name." And I fainted on the ground, surrounded by classmates in awe.

    Part 4

I really don't know what happened that fateful day. I never really understood how I got in touch with Tsubasa or why it unlocked all of my hidden Shinigami powers. Even to this day, I don't understand but I don't think about it often because I DON'T REALLY CARE. Whatever flipped the on and off switch to my powers was good news. After that incident, all of my grades skyrocketed. I was the best in all classes except one. (Energy Controlling Class. Didn't care much about it anyways.) Unfortunately, the teachers got suspicious on how my grades were instantly rising with "uncontrollable" speed. No matter how many times they tried to find my secret, they failed. One equation sums it up, me > teachers. No doubt they were jealous but who could blame them.

It was know to the entire class that I was going to be chosen to be a Shinigami. in the final test where we went up against real hollows, I wiped out 6 of them with a strange ease. I also felt that I was going to best them all, a giant change in how I usually acted. I felt I was at the top of the world. At the day of the graduation ceremony, I was the passer with the highest scores, obviously. Many others feared that my "power" would lead to me thinking I could do anything, but I told them that would never happen. I was poorly mistaken.

I had been assigned to the 13th squad. Apparently, powerful Shinigami were in that group so I was happier than any other student was. The souls in that group were actually pretty friendly and accommodating. I was even offered a resident behind the walls but I turned down the offer. I preferred Hana's cottage. One day, I was going on a mission with three members of my squad. We were assign to travel to a pretty vacant province in Japan where some hollows were supposedly gathering together for a attack on Tokyo. I was excited for this was my first mission out of the Soul Society.

The trip out to the real world wasn't that long so we were running to the area were the hollows were getting together. I though it a bit strange, because the hollows are usually too dumb to actually form an attack but I wasn't concerned. When we got to the area, all four of us were puzzled, not a trace of shinigami energy was found. All of us walked around inspecting the area for traces of hollow, when we heard a scream. I whirled around and saw Tatami being stabbed in the back by some members of the Secret Mobile Force.

As he fell they jumped at Kiede, but she was ready and repelled them all. The three of us were confused. Why were the Mobile Troops attacking us. That's when we noticed it. A huge pile up of hollow energy. A giant mouth emerged out of a black rock and consumed Watanube.

"ARRRGGG, AHHHHHH!" he screamed as he disappeared in the giant's mouth. The thing that just ate Watanube was a hollow. But not a normal hollow. It was the size of a 3-story building and had a human shape but with horns and wings protruding out of his red and black, slimy skin. His head was covered with a black flame. This one's spirit energy could distort the mind of a weak Shinigami. It must have been really powerful if it could hide all of that spirit.

"HAHAHAHA, that was quite delicious. I have to thank you for providing we with such a wonderful treat. Oh, what do we have here?" The monster picked up Tatami and gulped him down just like he did to Watanube. "Exceptional treat if I do say. I haven't eaten on of you little buggers in who knows how long. But you keep on coming. I can't pass an opportunity like this. Especially since I controlled those little ninja guys to get you over here." The hollow pointed at the Secret Mobile Force, kneeing at it, awaiting further orders. "It takes up sooo much energy to control someone, but I, DANTE, THE PUPPET MASTER am too great too overlook a weakness." chucked the Dante. "Oh well, time for supper."

"I can beat it," reassuring myself. As I jumped at it, the hollow smiled a devilish grin and lunged at me, mouth wide open. My blade ricocheted off Dante and as I flew back, it got ready to swallow me. Kiede jumped in front of me and yelled, "GET BACK KAZEKE, YOU LITTLE FOOL, NEKOBANE, DESTROY YOUR ENE---" Before she could finish her release spell, the Mobile Force shot an instant drowseeness dart into her, and the stall allowed Dante to pick her up and throw her in it's mouth. "No, no, no. That shall not be allowed." it replied. "We have another one I see, jolly good."

I stood there, unable to move. I was frozen in fear. Dante had destroyed three powerful warriors in such a short amount of time. I was sick to my stomach. Kaede's death would, from that point on, give me nightmares. "N... N... No... N... No. I can't believe it." The hollow's evil smile and eyes got closer and closer. "This is the end, THIS IS MY END!" Dante opened his mouth and I could see the everlasting darkness and despair contained in it. Tears formed in my eyes as I stared down the brink of destruction. "NOOOOOOOOO!" Suddenly, I opened my eyes and I saw myself being carried by Noami, a 13th Squad member, through the pathway to Soul Society. I was saved again. When I got back to headquarters I told them about everything that happened and the entire 13 divisions were in uproar about this new hollow called Dante. As they frantically rushed around I thought of only one thing, I HAVE TO BECOME STRONGER!!!

    Part 5

Days pass by with the blink of an eye. Soon weeks, months and even years pass without recognition. After that unforgettable encounter with Dante, the Puppet master, I have kept true to my vow and train with so much intensity that I rarely had time to even see Shinigami marvel at my ever growing skill. I was not, by any means, the slacker I used to be, I was now a trained force to be reckoned with! Natural skill is not enough to pass my high standards. I trained night and day with my heart and soul to make a god out of myself. I even tried to reach the untold powers of "bonkai" but even I was still not that powerful.

Many years have passed and at the moment I am recalling, I am 20. My skill is so great I was promoted to the vice-captain of squad 34. My record goes almost unmatched. I have sent a great and countless number of hollows to the afterlife. But one of my most amazing and memorable victories was coming up. Because of that, I was able to unlock an unimaginable power with in my being. But I am getting ahead of myself. That day was exceptionally sunny, but despite the weather, a horrible event took place at that moment.

I was walking around the area outside of the wall on patrol when I saw a great explosion at the high security prison. I was very curious. This was strange because any normal man would be filled with dread at the sight of it. I held back a slight smile and immediately ran towards the damaged site. When I got there, all I saw were some shinigami circling the area, scratching their heads in wonderment. Suddenly, I sensed a horrible, but powerful energy. I fell to the ground, clutching my head in agony because of the extremity in force. I got a glimpse of the other souls and was confused for they had not sensed a thing. A soldier rushed over to me and quickly asked, "Are you okay, sir?"

I got up and rubbed my head. "Yeah," I replied. The energy wave came again but I was prepared. I resisted the force and with difficulty, followed to to it's source. I kept wondering why only I could sense it but finding out the problem was my only priority. I turned left, left, right, left, right, right, right, left, and on and on until the pressure the energy put on my head was unbearable. I lowered my head and bit back my tongue to stop the scream I was just about to produce. I felt my warm blood run down my chin. The energy got greater and greater until I figured the source was right next to me. I struggled to look up. What I saw surprised me.

Standing in front of me was, what looked like a boy. He was dressed in fairly normal, "real world" clothes. There was only one thing wrong with him. That smile of his was just too devilish. He started laughing and the pain in my head slowly but surely loosened up. I stood up, limping to a side, and was panting like crazy. No normal human child could have done this to me with just spirit energy. He... this boy was inhuman.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Aren't you a little trooper. And I thought I hid my spirit energy so well. Even the other Bounto didn't know I tagged along." My eyes grew wide with disbelief. Bounto... What were bounto?

"You probably don't know what Bounto are, do you. Hah! I explain it to you nice and face. We Bounto are superhumans with unparralel strength and agility. We even can command "doll" to do our bidding. Some Bounto just broke into Soul Society and I snuck along to watch it go up in flames. I'm glad I met you. Now I can test my strength on you!" I jumped back just in time at he lunged at me with horrifying speed. and before I knew it I heard, "Too slow." And I felt his hand go through by body.

"Ack,, . AHHHHHH!" I fell to the ground cussing and struggling. I rolled in the dust holding my wound tight. My clothes were soaked to a bright crimson. I stopped rolling around and used my sword to be a support. I used all the energy I had just to keep myself standing. I was panting heavily and I constantly coughed out blood. This Bounto just stood in front of me laughing. "Is that all you have?" he smirked, "What a shame." "I'M NOT DONE YET. IMMOBILIZED YOUR FOE, TSUBASA!" A swirl of bright electricity instantly surrounded the blade and in a flash of light, my weapon was in it's "shikai" form.

"Take THIS!" I lunged forward and swung my blade. With amazing speed, electricity shot from it's brilliant edge and collided with the ground, resulting in an instant explosion. When the uplifted dust cleared, the Bounto stood their laughing with his unscathed body. He stopped laughing and in a slightly irritated tome he said "Pathetic, show him who's boss, Shiranui." He pulled a piece of ash with a symbol encrypted on it. He dropped it and it sank into the ground.

The atmosphere suddenly turned very hot and lava seeped from the ground. It climbed atop one and another until it hardened into a floating ball. "Yes, finally, some fun, kill?" it asked. The boy replied with a smirk, "Yes, kill." Instantly, a green flame shot out of a crack in it's shell and hit my feet. I screamed so loud, I could have sworn i went deaf. I sunk to the ground shivering in pain, I fell on the ground and blacked out.

    "Wake up..."
    "Huh?"
    "Wake up now."
    "But..."
    "Wake up NOW!!!!!"

"Ahh!" I sat up panting, and a cool gust of air whooshed past my face. I was disturbed about the sudden change in weather and I looked around. I was atop a aged tower in the middle of ruins that stretched as far as the eye could see. I turned around and spotted something that gave me great comfort.

"I WILL NOW HELP YOU!" boomed the unmistakable voice of Tsubasa.
    ____________________

    Part 6

"TSUBASA!" I stood on that ruined tower with great excitement and anxiety. I had many questions rushing through my head. I only could only catch one as they were moving at lightning speed. "Why have you brought me here, Tsubasa?"

"I have not brought you here young master, your will called for me. This is your doing, and as you asked, I am here to help your righteous victory. Do not worry, for I will teach you the ways of the ancient power deep inside of you. I WILL TEACH YOU TO UNLOCK YOUR BANKAI!" As he said this, Tsubasa rose into the twilight sky and flew around in a circle above my head at an unbelievable speed. I then saw a bright light in the middle of the shape he created. It was a golden cloud that looked solid and gaseous at the same time. In side when lightning bolts dancing around at a furious rate. "THIS IS YOUR POWER, THIS IS BONKAI, You must make your way up here to receive it. The is one thing to this, my rotations have created a tornado, pieces of the ruins are flying everywhere. If you can reach your power, you are deemed worthy!"

Tsubasa was a good couple hundred yards above me. I could probably make it but stone and pieces of rock were causing chaos all around the area. "I can do it!" I exclaimed. I jumped up and landed on one of the broken ruin pieces. As I was about to jump, a rather large stone pummeled me in the back and I flew to the ground. As I landed on tower, I quickly rolled around to dodge falling bits of glass. I looked up in dismay. The whole sky was a mess of flying debris. I tried again but to no avail, there was to many objects in the sky. Try after try resulted in the way, me getting beaten to the ground by tsubasa's wind. In addition to the ruins, the wind was slowing me down, making me susceptible to a hit. I even tried to pull out my sword and slice the stone but when I did that, another on hit me.

"I know you, master, you are better than this, CONCENTRATE AND BE WORTHY OF ME!"

"I'm trying!" I replied bitterly. There seemed to be no hope. I then had an idea. I jumped on one of the building walls and grasped onto in. I thought if i waited on a piece of debris, I would eventually be carried to the top. I was right, but something happened. As I jumped off at the top of the tornado, the intensity of the wind fired me down at terifing speed. I crashed through the ground and I felt excruciating pain.

"Calm down, master. Use your own power, do not concentrate on others. Only yourself. FIND YOUR TRUE INNER POWER!"

Heartbroken, I rested on the ground. Then I thought, inner power... OF COURSE, I was only concentrating on what I was facing, not on myself. I though of only my opponents power and tackling the obstacle. I found a way to climb over the wall, not break through it. Then I smiled and drew out my sword. I yelled the incantation and my blade turned into it's "shikai" form. I concentrated all of my energy into the bland and released the magnetic energy at the bonkai. Slowly, the item made it's way down the tornado towards the magnetic source in my weapon. At last it was in my hands. Right when it touched me, I felt an enormous amount of power deep inside me.

"Congratulations," said Tsubasa," BE POWERFUL, MASTER!" Right at that point Tsubasa and the ruins all disappeared and I was back in Soul Society. The Bounto was smirking at me and said, "I asked, Is that all you have?"

I stood up a said in confident words with a wide smile," Not even close..."

    Part FINALE!

"BONKAI!" I didn't know what to expect when I shouted those words in the sky. I was so excited at that moment that my voice wavered during the 2nd release spell because of my upcoming laughter. But when I finished shouting it to the blade, I was shocked. The intensity of the Bounto's spirit force faded away into nothing and he even started grinding his teeth.

"Get him, NOW, SHIRANUI" The doll came rushing forward but was batted away in an instant. Buildings were crumbling all around be and metal objects were flying away, as if scared by the blade. Suddenly, All earth near my crumbled and my blade exploded. Yes, exploded. Literally, the blad repelled itself from the inside and millions of fragments of steel erupted and all that was left was the ribbon from the hilt. The pieces of the steel were to small to see, even under a powerful microscope, but I could feel each and everyone of them as if they were apart of my own being. The boy was cowering in a corner and the looked up. As he saw me with only a red ribbon, he laughed, hard.

"BWAHAHAHAHA. IS THAT IT? YOUR BONKAI IS A RIBBON!!? WHAT A LAU..." But before he could finish his sentence, he suddenly started bleeding in the head. "WHAT THE HELL!?!?" He held his forehead and looked up in agony. He saw me with an extremely annoyed look on my face, holding a very detailed handgun in my hand. "Oh, shit!" He exclaimed. He jumped behind an uplifted boulder and yelled," Where did that come from!"

"Tornado Tsubasa," I said in an irritated tone," It's ability is to use magnetic energy to pull itself together in any form I want. It is now in the form of a gun. It's over."

"Not so fast, I still have Shiranui. Kill him, my doll, KILL HIM."

"Yes Mast..." Shiranui stopped short and the Bounto looked towards him. "What's wrong with... OH MY GOD!" he screamed. Dozens of iron rods in the form of arrows were sticking out of him. The boy looked at me and his eyes widened. I was then holding a iron bow, using the ribbon to shoot the arrows. Shortly after that, the doll disappeared from existence.

"OH NO!!!" The Bounto screamed as I walked towards him. My bow turned into a giant lance and I slayed the Bounto. It was then when everybody figured I got my heartless attitude when in battle. I was known to, by random, change my attitude to fierce and unforgiving in battle. I was so unpredictable no one ever wanted to duel me.

After the Bounto battle, I gave my highly appreciated report and was considered one of the many "Heroes" in Shinigami books. I was even awarded my own squad. It was known as the 50th Division. Of course, not many wanted to join because of my attitude, made ends meet. There was, of course, still Dante on the loose, but his activities have toned down since my incident with him. The rest is... Well... look foward to it!

    THE END
    Lol, yes it's finally done!
